IS PRIOR YOGA EXPERIENCE REQUIERED?
No, prior experience is not a requirement.
“I am not flexible, I am not strong enough, I am not fit, I need to lose weight first and so on” are only EXCUSES that our minds create!
You don’t need to have all the gear or read special books before you start to practice yoga. Your balance, strength and flexibility will come with regular practice.
Just show up as you are today, without aspectations and let’s have fun together!
WHY TO CHOOSE HOT YOGA?
We love to sweat! We practice yoga in room heated to 35-40 degrees Celsius (depending on the class). Heat will allow your body to go deeper into the postures, reducing risk of muscles overstretching and injuries. The heat will help to detoxify your body, it will burn the calories faster, it is also a great cardiovascular workout. Yoga in a heated room helps us to relax our body and mind, promotes general state of well being and give us a satisfying feeling of achievement!
PERHAPS YOU WONDER: WHY ARE WE SO RIGID ABOUT PUNCTUALITY?
Being punctual is very important in Yoga as in any group classe.
First of all, it is for your own benefit to arrive on time. By being late and rushing to catch up, your mind and body may not be in synergy with the whole class. It will be difficult to stabilize your breath and focus on your body. Our classes have systematically designed sequences to gradually warm up your body from one posture to the next, allowing every muscle, joint and organ to receive 100% benefits. Therefore, by missing the beginning of the class, you will not gain the full benefits of the practice.
Secondly, when entering late, you interrupt the practice and focus of everyone else in the class.
It is the mutual respect we have for one another that makes it more fun to practice together!
Please, Please, Please, arrive on time and be mindful and respectful of our late arrival policy!
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR TIME, WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE YOGA!
ANY AGE LIMIT?
There is no age limit! Junior citizens are allowed in the classes as long as they are able to follow the instructions and concentrate during the whole class. Children under 14 should be accompanied by an adult.
Senior citizens are very welcomed to attend all classes. However, if exercise is not part your regular routine, please take it slowly at beginning and be mindful of your health or consult your doctor for any health enquires.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO CLASS?
Bring slippers and a change of clothes to wear after class. You will sweat!
Bring water or you can buy one at the studio. It’s a must to have water with you during the entire class!
One big towel is provided. You can rent an extra towel for 5 RON each.
Yoga mats are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Our shower rooms have body wash/shampoo. We also provide hairdryers for your convenience.
BEFORE THE CLASS
If you are a NEW STUDENT, arrive 15-20 minutes early.
Allocate some time to find the studio for the first time and to fill out some necessary registration papers. We will give you a tour around the studio and we would love to answer any question you might have. Also, it’s beneficial to give yourself extra few minutes to settle and get comfortable in unfamiliar environment.
HEALTH ISSUES OR INJURIES
It is very important to disclose any health conditions, injuries and emotional issues. Our experiences yoga instructors will do their best to support you but they are not doctors. If in doubt, we recommend to consult your physician before beginning your practice. It is our responsibility to push you to achieve your best but it is your responsibility to know your body’s limit!
WHAT TO EAT AND DRINK
Eat at least 2-3 hours before the practice. Your stomach should not be full but you should not be starving either. Many yoga postures work both internally and externally on your body. A person with a full stomach may find it more difficulties to perform certain postures. Drink plenty of water throughout the day so that you are well hydrated before coming to the class. Make water part of your daily regime (we recommend 2 – 3 litters per day, depending on the structure of your body). You may also want to drink electrolyte drinks. They are available in the stores, or make one yourself: one litter of water, one lemon, a spoon of sugar/honey and a pinch of salt. Also, keep in mind that coconut water is a great natural source of electrolytes!
WHAT TO WEAR
It is hot!!! Women wear shorts or yoga leggings and sport tops or sport bras. Men wear workout shorts or swim trunks; a t-shirt is optional. Avoid sweats or loose/oversized T-shirts. It is NOT allowed to practice only in the underwear or in 2 pieces swimming suit. Make sure you’re comfortable and freshly laundered. Clean gear will make your class and others far more enjoyable!
DURING THE CLASS
Feel free to go into the hot yoga room before class and adjust your body and mind to the temperature inside. In the yoga room we keep silence, you can talk on the hallway. NO MOBILES PHONES are allowed IN THE YOGA ROOM.
Any time during the class, it is OK to rest for few postures and focus on slowing down your breath. We strongly advise you to stay in the hot room for the duration of the class. You will be surprised how much easier your next class will be as your body detoxifies and becomes stronger. You will begin to see the heat as your friend!
AFTER THE CLASS
Savasana is the most important part of the sequence. It is your well-deserved rest, just relax for a few minutes before you leave the yoga room. Please, be quite when you exit the room as your fellow practitioners may want to rest a little longer.
After the practice you will feel warm! Sometimes you may even feel tired but the tiredness will be replaced with energy after few classes. Our advice is lukewarm shower and drink plenty of water or enjoy a coconut water! STAY HYDRATED! Come back as soon as possible, do not give time for the mind to find EXCUSES! The longer you wait for the next class, the harder it becomes! Regular practice is the best way to get rid of any muscle soreness. You really maximize the benefits of yoga with a daily practice.
Some yoga is better than no yoga, more yoga is better than some yoga!
